I love the holidays and stories that take place around the holidays...so the title of this book caught my eye. What a fun read. The story is told in a very casual, visual way that makes you feel like you are hanging out right along with main characters Jess and Ashley in the mall at the beginning of the story. Without giving much away, it starts out with a topic we can all relate to...the belief in such things as magic, true love and fairy-tale relationships, we once thought was possible as children, all too commonly fading away with the onset of realism and hardships of adulthood...But not so fast! Santa's Gift thumbs its nose at the myth that magic is kid's stuff...The story takes a turn and starts to feel a little like some of the classic, less eerie episodes of the "Twilight Zone" such as "The Night of the Meek" with Art Carney who works as a fake Santa and is fired on Christmas Eve only to find a mysterious bag that gives out endless presents.
If you can, read "Santa's Gift by the fireplace with a glass of wine...and dive in to a heart warming tale.

A simply beautiful love story that made me grin the entire time I was reading. We have all been burned by love and know the pain and anger we feel afterwards. Especially when we were unhappy and then dumped....that sucks! Jessica knows that feeling well, and right before Christmas, talk about bah humbug! I beautifully written love story that you can sit down and read quickly to get that little romantic pick me up to help get you in the holiday spirit!
A short story from the collection titled Merry Chick Lit, this is a fantastic start to get inspired for Christmas. A funny and heart warming encounter that will have you believing in true love and the magic of Christmas. I adore this author's comedic writing and her main character easily connect with the reader. If you are feeling a bit like scrooge this will certainly brighten your spirits.

I was feeling stressed about the upcoming holidays until I read this book. The story reminded me of the magic of Christmas and how we all used to believe. I now believe again! The book was a quick, inspiring read. I found myself smiling at the dialogue between the characters as it was easy to relate to them. I wanted to be there in the moment. Take some time for yourself this holiday season and read this book. It will refresh your soul and have you believing in the magic of Christmas.

The story is about Jess who is ready to give up on love until a mall Santa gives her hope. My favorite character is Ashley. She is a great friend to Jess and their witty banter is hilarious. Classic Aspenson!
Carolyn Ridder Aspenson is a fantastic writer. She puts all the feels into her stories whether it’s a novella or a full length novel. The author knows how to capture the reader from start to finish.
Santa's Gift turned up the fire and got me in the spirit of Christmas with this delightful short tale of the magic of true love. Poor Jess is heartbroken after a breakup with her boyfriend and is in no mood for any holiday antics. She and her best friend Ashley do some midnight holiday shopping at the mall and have some fun sitting on Santa's lap. Well, this Santa asks her to tell him her wish. She plays along with him and asks for true love.
Well, later that night the magic all begins as she mysteriously meets Jack, a to die for handsome guy and begins a whirlwind relationship. There are some real surprises here as the mall Santa was someone very special and Jack reveals a startling secret!
This story really put me in the holiday mood and was a smooth and easy read. I also loved the humor added in here as I found myself laughing quite a bit. I have already decided to order copies as Christmas presents for the special ladies on my list.
I'm a sucker for Christmas stories and this one was great. I read it all in one sitting because I could not put it down.
Read this a week late but still a fun quick holiday romance!! I love her other books too so try those after this!
